Internet Security: Latest Hack Attacks: Twitter and Netwars
Internet and the Law: Do's and Don't's for your Internet or New Media Business
We will have our regular 15 minute "Update on Internet Topics" session where everybody who wants to gets a to
update each other on the latest developments in our fields, explore possible collaboration with others and make announcements on upcoming events or search for resources,
after which we will feature our speakers:
1. Julian Chan on legal Do’s and Don’ts for Internet and New Media Startups, Entrepreneurs, and Professionals.
Some of the topics addressed at this interactive session:
- Domain names you own or are trying to get, on using a name or term on the Internet that someone else may have claims to
- How can you create more income with an online program or entertainment properties that you created or that you think you own the rights to?
- How can you negotiate licensing a program from someone else for your own business or your own customers?
- What should you keep in mind when writing up a service contract with a customer of yours, or with partners?
2. Jim Shewmaker will be speaking on an interesting project, called Netwars, that is used to find security talent among college and high school students. Netwars is a game where each player has the opportunity to play the game with any attack, defend, or pure analysis techniques. Although it initially started out as a recruiting game it has caught the attention of high level organizations seeking Internet security talent.
Jim will also address other security related issues such as the recent Twitter shutdown and attacks on networks inside corporations and some government agencies, along with basic issues such as how to standard security measures for your company web site.
